Tbilisi – capital of Georgia, in the Caucasus is considered one of the most ancient cities. Before Tbilisi, Mtskheta was the   royal capital of Georgia till V century. According to legend, during the victorious reign of King Vakhtang Gorgasali, he went hunting on the territory of modern sulfur baths, where he shot a pheasant which fell bubbling water. The water was so hot that while the king ordered a pheasant, he boiled it. Deeply surprised and satisfied king commanded to build the city at this place, and call it Tbilisi. In a short time the capital was moved from Mtskheta to Tbilisi.
